Description
Origin of Zamzam Water
According to Islamic history, the well of Zamzam miraculously sprang forth when Hajar (Hagar), the wife of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham, عليه السلام), searched desperately for water for her infant son Ismail (Ishmael, عليه السلام) in the barren desert. In response to her struggle, Allah (SWT) caused the water to gush out near the feet of baby Ismail.
